MAKATI CITY --- BSBA students from WRI attended the Pilipinas Student in Free Enterprise (SIFE) National Finals conducted in Makati City in Metro Manila last July, 2012.

SIFE, which was founded by Jose P. Leviste, is an international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders.

Among the observers and potential participants in the event was the delegation from WRI Colleges.

Participating students form teams in their university colleges and campuses in order to apply business concepts to develop outreach projects that will improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need.

It is open to all students who are interested in improving lives, strengthening communities and developing socially responsible business leaders.

The National finals composed of 31 Participating teams and 18 competing teams such as: Baliuag University, Central Luzon State University, Central Philippines University-Iloilo City, Columban College- Olongapo City, Dela Salle University-Dasmariñas, Divine World College of Calapan, Holy Trinity College of General Santos, etc.

During the final round of the competition, four groups presented their projects to all the participants.  The presenters were Divine Word College of Calapan, Lyceum of Northwestern University, Mariano Marcos University and University of Luzon.

In spite of the beauty of the presentations, it was the University of Luzon which topped them all, gaining them the honor of becoming the representative to the SIFE World Cup held last September 30 to October 2, 2012 at Washington D.C, USA.

The representatives from WRI were privileged to be introduced to Jose P. Leviste.

Leviste said that he was glad to see the WRIans and he hopes to see our school soon as one of the contenders in the future.
