NAGA CITY --- Prior to the formal opening of the PeƱafrancia Fiesta, the WRIans once again joined in the annual Marian Youth Congress (MYC) last September.

The MYC is a traditional yearly activity conducted by the Catholic Archdiocese of Caceres of Naga which has the aim of mobilizing youth leaders and students by letting them experience the Essence of Spirituality and Devotion to “INA,” the Mother of Bicol.

The said activity was successfully managed through the effort and support of devotees and citizens of Naga.

The venues again this year was the Naga City Coliseum, now known as Jesse Robredo Coliseum, and the Naga Cathedral Grounds.

There was an estimated attendance of more than 12,000 participants which were all representatives from various universities and colleges all over Bicol Region.

The day is probably more remembered by those youth who met new friends, shared laughs and experiences during the fun activities which were organized there.

Behind that celebration is still the impact of spiritual messages of the parish priest regarding the essential part of the conference.  He made clear the values that we can apply throughout our daily life.

“As the bible said: Not only in the bread mans live but also through the word of God,” as shared by Father Rex Hidalgo during his opening remarks.  “Each of us are blessed to have different talents and abilities it just depends on how we will use it. In this simple way taught he contribute a lot to those person still blinded by the reality.”
